BLUE CURTAIN, 2018, Film/Video + Sound
A blue cloth blows in the wind, standing in front of, and sometimes behind the subject. Cloth forms are in constant movement; they exist as molds of the human body, and molds of human necessities; clothing, flags, bedsheets, curtains, blankets. But they exist in a strange way that is simultaneously interlaced with human gesture, yet lying docile as surface. Cloth is imperceptibly integrated into our world, to where it becomes difficult to separate its form from material and meaning. One could see; a woman’s dress soaked in mud, a flag stained by smoke, a tarp wrapped around a building, a quilt wrapped around a person, a tent in the wind, a curtain before a room, before a bed.
